United Nations Solutions Hub
Effective date: 01/08/2026
Last updated: 01/08/2026
The United Nations Solutions Hub (“Solutions Hub”, “Platform”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is an online platform operated by the Global Enabling Sustainability Initiative (GeSI) and developed in collaboration with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).
The Platform connects cities and other public authorities with solution providers, funding organisations, investors, technical experts and implementation partners. It uses artificial intelligence and other digital capabilities to identify potential matches between challenges, solutions, funding opportunities and relevant organisations.
This Privacy Policy explains how personal data is collected, used, shared, stored and protected when individuals and organisations access or use the Platform.
The Global Enabling Sustainability Initiative (GeSI) is responsible for operating the United Nations Solutions Hub and determining how and why personal data collected through the Platform is processed. GeSI therefore acts as the data controller for the Platform.
The Platform has been developed in collaboration with UNFCCC and TCS. These organisations may support the operation, development and objectives of the Solutions Hub in accordance with their respective agreed responsibilities.
For questions, requests or concerns regarding this Privacy Policy or the use of your personal data, please contact:
Email: contact@unsh.org
This Privacy Policy applies to personal data processed through:
Platform administration, security and analytics.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party websites or services linked from the Platform. Those services are governed by their own privacy policies.
4.1 Account and contact information
When you register for or use the Platform, we may collect:
professional biography, qualifications and areas of expertise.
4.2 Organisational and project information
Users may submit information concerning:
preferred partners, sectors, locations and project characteristics.
Some of this information will relate to organisations rather than individuals. However, it will be treated as personal data where it identifies, relates to or can reasonably be linked to an individual.
4.3 Information generated through use of the Platform
When you use the Platform, we may automatically collect:
records of matches, recommendations and user feedback.
4.4 Communications
We may process information contained in messages exchanged with the Solutions Hub team or, where Platform functionality permits, with other users and organisations.
4.5 Information received from other sources
We may receive information from:
service providers supporting the operation and security of the Platform.
Where required by applicable law, we will inform you when personal data has been obtained from another source.
We may use personal data to:
protect the rights, safety and legitimate interests of users, partners and the public.
We will not use personal data for purposes that are incompatible with those described in this Privacy Policy unless we provide additional notice or obtain consent where required.
The Platform uses artificial intelligence and related technologies to analyse information submitted by participating organisations and identify potentially relevant connections.
The matchmaking system may compare:
user preferences and feedback on previous recommendations.
Based on these factors, the Platform may generate suggested matches, relevance indicators, rankings or recommendations.
These outputs are intended to support discovery and informed human decision-making. They do not guarantee:
the successful implementation of a solution or partnership.
Users remain responsible for conducting their own assessments, verification and due diligence before entering into any agreement or making any financial, procurement or implementation decision.
The Platform does not use AI-generated recommendations to make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on individuals. Users may contact us to request information about a recommendation, report inaccurate results or request a human review.
Personal data submitted to the Platform will not be used to train publicly available or general-purpose AI models unless users are separately informed and an appropriate legal basis has been established.
Where the General Data Protection Regulation or other applicable data-protection legislation applies, GeSI processes personal data on one or more of the following grounds:
Legal obligations: where processing is necessary to comply with applicable legal, regulatory, audit or accountability requirements.
Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing undertaken before consent was withdrawn.
The Solutions Hub is designed to facilitate collaboration. Information included in organisational, challenge, solution, project or funding profiles may therefore be visible to other registered users or, where clearly indicated, to the public.
Depending on the Platform’s functionality and the settings selected, information may be:
publicly available.
The Platform will indicate the intended level of visibility when information is submitted or published.
Users should not submit confidential information, commercially sensitive information or personal data about another person unless they are authorised to do so.
We may share personal data with:
a successor organisation in connection with an approved transfer or restructuring of the Platform.
Service providers may only process personal data for authorised purposes and must apply appropriate confidentiality, privacy and security safeguards.
GeSI does not sell personal data or share it with third parties for their independent advertising purposes.
The Solutions Hub operates internationally. Personal data may therefore be accessed or processed in countries other than the country in which it was collected.
Where required by applicable law, international transfers will be protected using recognised safeguards. These may include adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, contractual commitments, access controls and appropriate technical and organisational security measures.
Further information about applicable transfer safeguards may be requested by contacting contact@unsh.org.
We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
The applicable retention period will depend on:
the need to resolve disputes, maintain security records or prevent misuse.
When personal data is no longer required, it will be securely deleted, anonymised or retained in a restricted form where immediate deletion is not technically or legally possible.
Users may request the deletion of their account and associated personal data by contacting contact@unsh.org, subject to applicable retention requirements.
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, loss, misuse or destruction.
These measures may include:
security obligations for service providers.
No online system can guarantee absolute security. Users are responsible for protecting their login credentials and should notify us immediately if they suspect unauthorised access to their account.
The Platform may use cookies and similar technologies to:
detect and prevent security threats.
Strictly necessary cookies may operate without consent where permitted by law. Optional analytics or other non-essential cookies will only be used in accordance with applicable consent requirements.
Users will be able to manage applicable cookie preferences through the Platform’s cookie settings.
Depending on your location and the applicable law, you may have the right to:
lodge a complaint with an applicable data-protection authority.
These rights may be subject to legal limitations and may not apply in every circumstance.
To exercise your rights, contact contact@unsh.org. We may request information necessary to verify your identity and protect personal data against unauthorised disclosure.
Nothing in this Privacy Policy constitutes or may be interpreted as a waiver of the privileges and immunities of the United Nations or UNFCCC.
The Platform may contain links to third-party websites, solutions, funding opportunities or external resources. We do not control the privacy or security practices of those third parties.
The appearance of a match, recommendation, organisation, solution or funding opportunity on the Platform does not constitute an endorsement, certification, guarantee or verification by GeSI, UNFCCC, TCS or the United Nations Solutions Hub unless expressly stated otherwise.
For questions, requests or complaints concerning this Privacy Policy or the processing of personal data, please contact:
United Nations Solutions Hub

You may also have the right to contact the competent data-protection authority in your country, subject to applicable law and the legal status, privileges and immunities of the participating organisations.
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the Platform, its technologies, participating organisations, data-processing activities or applicable requirements.
The revised version will be published on the Platform with an updated “Last updated” date. Where a change materially affects how personal data is processed, we will provide additional notice and obtain consent where required.
